Wondering

In the last six years, two months and how ever many days it has been of being in recovery, I think I have learned basically two things about the situation. It is crucial to face reality. Reality is more than likely a bitch. But that makes sense because that is why I was trying to avoid it. But when you have dealt with how disappointed your broken reality is, then you will find peace. Now all that is more than two things and is a bit cynical; but maybe true.

In any case, my God says He is not a liar. Sometimes I wonder if He was lying, but I place all my hope in the fact that He is not.

Today I noticed the story of Mary pouring $30,000 of perfume on Jesus’ feet and then wiping His feet with her hair. I noticed how Martha was once again serving while Mary was being obsessed with Jesus. I noticed that Jesus once again protected Mary. God seems to have a thing for people obsessed with Him.

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment; and the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22
